Nan Siemer founded BREAKERS in 1992 to help people get
past career barriers by helping them improve some of their
key professional skills. Training participants learn how
to improve a variety of skills, including: Communication,
Media Relations, Management, Leadership and Negotiation.
Since this business is based in the Washington area, it
serves a mixed clientele from the public and private sectors.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Nan moved to the Washington
area a decade ago. She helps her clients by drawing from
a lifetime of professional experience, including 15 years
as a broadcast journalist. She has also held a series
of leadership positions in voluntary organizations, including
founding president of the Washington, DC, Area Chapter
of the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA)
and president of the Capital Area Chapter of the National
Association of Women Business Owners.
Nan holds a MS in Mass Communications and BS in Broadcast
Journalism from Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri.
She has also taught at Lindenwood and The American University
in Washington, DC.
